Auburn vs Mississippi Thursday night
Ok now that the NFL Picks season is over, we look a head to 2012 March Madness Picks and 2012 March Madness Odds. It has been a roller-coaster ride for Mississippi this season, but the Rebels hope to continue rising as the SEC Tournament 2012 Odds begins. Mississippi started the season 9-1, only to lose six of eight at one point in the middle of conference play. Its current three-game winning streak gives Mississippi hope it may be peaking again at the right time. Auburn comes in having lost eight of its past 10, but the Tigers shocked LSU 67-52 to end the regular season on an upswing. The two teams split their regular season College Basketball Picks meetings, each winning on their home floor in two close contests.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network, ESPN3.com

ABOUT AUBURN (15-15, 5-11 SEC):
The Tigers enter as the 10th seed in March Madness Picks and struggled to find consistent offense against SEC competition. Auburn averaged only 58.1 points against conference foes, shooting 39.3 percent from the floor. The Tigers showed some signs of life offensively down the stretch, shooting 47 percent or better against Mississippi State and 49.1 percent against Arkansas. Frankie Sullivan tied a season high with 22 points against LSU after scoring 30 points in his previous three games.

ABOUT MISSISSIPPI (18-12, 8-8): Despite the ups and downs, interior defense has been one constant for the Rebels. Mississippi ranks 15th in the NCAA in average blocked shots and leads all SEC teams in conference play in rebounding. In the regular-season finale, the Rebels held Alabama to a season-low 17 points in the first half and improved to 13-3 when holding opponents to less than 40 percent shooting (34.5 percent). Murphy Holloway is averaging 11.3 points and 10.3 rebounds during the winning streak, and Terrance Henry (12.3 points) has shot 50 percent or better in five of his past six outings.

TIP-INS:

1. The last three meetings have been decided by a total of 11 points.

2. The March Madness Odds postseason opener is Mississippi coach Andy Kennedy’s 200th game at the school (123-76 in six seasons).

3. The winner plays No. 2 Tennessee in Friday's quarterfinals.
